What We Help With
Mental health challenges can affect every part of your life, from relationships to work, sleep and daily functioning. If you or a loved one has been experiencing any of the following, therapy can provide a safe place to process what’s happening, develop skills that support well-being and move toward healing:
- Anxiety: Persistent worry, racing thoughts or stress-related physical tension
- Depression: Low mood, loss of interest in things you used to enjoy or difficulty getting through the day
- Trauma or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD): Painful memories, intrusive thoughts or a sense of being on edge after a traumatic experience
- Relationship conflict: Frequent arguments, misunderstandings or emotional distance
- Loss and grief: Sadness, numbness, guilt or loneliness after the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship or another significant change
- Behavioral or emotional struggles: Defiance, withdrawal, school avoidance or difficulty managing big feelings
- Life transitions: Stress or challenging emotions related to job changes, relocation, blended families or adjusting to a new phase of life
You don’t need to have all the answers or the right words for what you’re going through. We’ll help you make sense of it together.
Our Therapeutic Approaches
Each person’s path to healing looks different. We’ll work with you to determine which approach makes sense for you, adjusting your treatment plan as your needs evolve. Evidence-based approaches we use include:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT): Helps you identify and change negative thought patterns that may be contributing to ongoing stress, anxiety, depression or other challenges
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT): Teaches you practical skills for managing difficult emotions and navigating conflict
- Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR): Helps your brain process painful memories through guided eye movements so they feel less distressing
- Accelerated resolution therapy (ART): Uses eye movements and visualization to help you process traumatic memories
- Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT): Combines trauma processing with coping skills in a developmentally appropriate format for children and teens
Whether you’re interested in CBT, DBT, EMDR or another approach, we offer both in-person sessions at our Layton office and telehealth appointments, so you can access care in the way that works best for your schedule and comfort level.
